From the Arab Spring to the Islamic Caliphate - While Operation Protective Edge SimmersReader comment on item: Caliph Ibrahim's Brutal Moment Submitted by Ludvikus (United States), Aug 5, 2014 at 09:22 Excellent and timely piece - by Daniel Pipes. The Islamic State perculates around the Islamic former caliphate Capitols of Bahgdad and Damascus, in contrast to the earlier capital cities of Muhammad's rule, Medina and Mecca. How Cordoba, Ishtambul (former Roman, or Byzantine Constentinople), Ankara, etc., figure into this Muslim "Protestant Reformation" plays out seems to depend on a "Third City," Al-Quds, or Jerusalem, which seems currently to be the focus of the Western World, and the International Community as embodied in the Unoted Nation (UN). Russia, China, India, and the European Union, have other matters on their plates, so that the events in Israel and Gaza are distractions. But it looks like Pan-Arabism and Pan-Islamist will no longer be united merely by its opposition in unity against Zionism, Israel, and Jews .... In the Abrahamic World, the Jew is the Third Factor in the Islamist Struggle against the West and Paganism. But now, the preoccupation with the Jew in Israel will revert back to the Christian World, since there are so many violent preoccupations in the Countries of the majority Muslim homelands. So as the Operation Protective Edge simmers into silence, how will the Muslim World respond to the physical disaster in Gaza under the predictable "Victory" of Hamas?
