Many Muslims yearn for the return of the golden age of Islam and that this golden age is supposed to be the time when الخلفاء الراشدين or al-Khulafa' al-Rashidiin were in charge of the emerging Islamic empire

Oh الخلفاء الراشدين ? they are Abu Bakr and Omar and Othman and Ali and this is the period between 632CE and 661 CE when Mu3awiyya took over in 661 CE and became the Caliph

Omar and Othman and Ali were murdered and the period between 632CE and 661CE was a period of wars and destruction and starvation? Golden age? this is far from the truth

No one was able to describe this period better than Farag Foda who was a secularist in Egypt and he was murdered by Islamists in Egypt in the 1990's and he made it very clear that thos so called golden age was indeed dark age of misery and wars and starvation

And here is Farag Foda immortal words about the hoax of the golden age of Islam and I urge the readers to use googletranslate and read for yourselves and the title of the book is الحقيقة الغاءبة or the absent/hidden truth

And this was the fate of three of the so called al-Khulafa' al-Rashdiin the chances that the present so called Khalifa being murdered by his followers is 75% because history is the nasty habit of repeating itself

PS: By the way the Muslim ulama and grammarians really do not know what the word Khilafa means
