I thought from the beginning that the reason Obeyme Obomber uses the term Levant is that it champions Islamism. Like you mentioned, Levant is a far larger area than just Iraq & Suria. It's an area once ruled by Islam that Muslims want again Islamized in the savage Mohammeden way.
