John Kerry calls it Da'ishReader comment on item: There's No Difference between ISIS and ISIL Submitted by dhimmi no more (United States), Oct 31, 2015 at 10:02 Dr Pipes At last Mr Kerry is using the right acronym داعش or Da'ish instead of ISIS or IS or Obama's silly ISIL But this is not the end of the story if you watch BBC Arabic داعش or Da'ish is called تنظيم الدولة الاسلامية or Tanzim al-Dawla al-Islamiyya Compare this with their English version where the Arabic language definite article al is not included and they call Islamic State Why? I really do not know but it is very clear that in Arabic if they call it تنظيم دولة اسلامية or Tanzim Islamic State it would not have any clear meaning but again BBC is not any better than Pravda I urge your readers to use the acronym Da'ish after all we call the other terrorist organization al-Qa'eda القاعدة and we do not call it the base and we do not call Muhammad the praiseworthy either Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
