Well, in a parallel case, I've known people of Norwegian heritage who held that the best thing that ever happened to their ancestors was when Good King Olav gave them the choice of baptism or the sword; and the second best thing was that they were under a Danish king who opted for the Reformation in the 16th century. They do have some nice Christmas music, come to think of it--Fra Fjord og Faere and Jeg ver Sa Glad.
