possible explanationReader comment on item: Are Muslims Fatalists? Submitted by Vijay (Switzerland), Sep 20, 2015 at 13:03 If I remember correctly, in one of Sigmund Freud writings , somewhere he mentions, or recommends , a person in desperate circumstance to have a "fair fght with fate" instead of accepting it like a Muslim in a fatalistic manner. I read it 25 or 35 years back and can't give any more background. That means associating Muslims with fatalism would have been widespread in Europe a hundred years back and the desperate Jews in death camps would have called even more desperate Jews who have given up all will to live, and will to take chances to prolong their life, as Muslims. It is to do with fatalistic attitudes of Muslims, real or imagined.
