"the advantage Arafat and the Falastin movement had over Hitler was that they were clients of the Soviets during the Cold War."
Far more importantly, they had connections in high places in the UK. The Jordanian army that attacked Israel in 1948 was led by an English officer, Sir John Bagot Glubb.
