Regarding predictable predictions vis-à-vis Erdogan

ISIS doesn't need to win a conventional war against the West and anyway just because ISIS could be defeated militarily doesn't mean there's the political will to do it.

So ISIS cannot be easily defeated. This is a red herring. Iran can't be defeated for the same reason.

ISIS like Iran has made the right enemies and that's what counts.

These predictions don't.

An enemy that can't be bothered is always the right enemy.

In the Middle East support only strength. Confronting that rule of thumb would cause a collapse of morale in the "liberal" West. Thus you are defeated.

That is the real danger of ISIS and all the groups that may succeed it.
