Many liberal Jews differ from other liberals on the issue of Israel

While it is true that majority of Jews in America are liberals, many take exception to the issue of Israel, exemplified by Senator Joe Lieberman.

Lieberman is centrist enough that he was effectively expelled from the Democratic Party by a leftist and ran for senator as an independent.
