100% hyperboly

Hi, Anne. You said,

Indeed, it's easy to prophecy nowadays, because the Biblical prophecies merely put names and times on things already in motion. Yes, Europe is a vicious enemy of Israel even today; but they continue to put on a charade of being Israel's ally. As for the church being persecuted, we also read about this regularly in the news: beheadings, arrests, removing crosses from churches, you name it: It's all happening and increasing. You went on,

"Obama's attack on Israel has not taken the form of outright aggression, of actual bombing of Jews, or carting them off to gas chambers. But he has exerted a continuing passive aggression, a relentless campaign of denigrating Israel's elected leader and denouncing the will of the Israeli people.."

Zechariah 14 says,

[2] For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.

That's "all nations", as in "all nations" aka "the United Nations". There is ample precedent in Iraq, Kosovo, Afghanistan and Libya, of US-led international coalitons boldly going into nations on a pretext, ousting the govenment and leaving a mess. With most of the UN's resolutions being against Israel, it doesn't take much imagination to envision President Obama, Clinton (Bill, Hillary -- what's the difference?), Trump or some other leading a "coalition of the willing" to bend Israel to the Collective Will by brute force. It hasn't happened yet, but will soon. You went on,

"I'm not happy about a Clinton presidency but I don't think that she'd be worse than Obama. She is well known and has much experience. She will be very manageable."

I disagree, but it's a moot point -- I think Trump will win in November. If she manages to win, the old saying comes to mind: "Fool me once, it's your fault; fool me twice, it's my fault". You went on,

"It really will be like having a bully and a madman in the oval office. I can't see how your wanting such an outcome can possibly square with values derived from Jesus."

These things were all said about Obama, yet he has been our President for seven years. Tje "madness" talk is 100% hyperbole.
