Not alone

You are not alone in your thoughts about the coup. I had exactly the same reaction when I saw it pop up on Drudge. In fact I had been anticipating the possibility for some months. A wise president would be making contingency plans to move operations from Incirlik and Izmir to another location.

A bigger question is whether Turkey can remain in NATO. I suspected at the time the shootdown of a Russian plane some months ago was an attempt to create more conflict between the US and Russia. Friends like this we can do without.
