The Western Dandy leaders can't deal with Erdogan.Reader comment on item: Why I Rooted for the Turkish Coup Attempt Submitted by Michael S (United States), Jul 29, 2016 at 05:30 Hi, Jerry Thank you for uttering the sweet-sounding name of Donald Trump. After 28 years of Ivy-League ninnies in the White House, we may finally be getting a Prez with oxygen in his veins. Oxford's Cameron AND May, the Sorbonne's Hollande, Leipzig's Merckel and Harvard's Obama (and Yale's Ms. Clinton) may not be able to understand nor deal with Erdogan; but Trump and Pence will. If they get elected, I think we can expect a sensible policy concerning both Turkey and NATO. The last I read, Turkish activists were at the Incirlik NATO base, shouting anti-American slogans: http://news.az/articles/world/110935 I guess I'm prophesying Trump's defeat; because I can't imagine the US dealing competently in the Middle East anymore -- "American competence" is beginning to sound oxymoronic. If Hillary gets elected, she will soon turn a nightmare into a living hell.
