Beg to DifferReader comment on item: No to Bombing Syria Submitted by len (United States), Apr 7, 2017 at 00:28 I see things a bit different !America a la President Obama had been quite negligent and incompetent in regards to providing the backing necessary for the Sunni rebels or as you mention the weaker side to deal Assad and his very powerful allies . In this negligence it has allowed Russia and Iran to come in with impunity to give the Assad side an incredible undeserving advantage. It is too late to reverse the Russian involvement but it is not to late to try to even up the situation if it is even possible at this late time. Bombing strictly military bases and instillations can keep the regime off balance and more importantly embarrass the regimes backers in their inability to address these attacks effectively. It exposes finally the other sides vulnerability and gives great hope to what is left of the fighting forces of the opposition. These kind of attacks is just what the Doctor ordered to keep the patient (the opposition) alive. These kind of remedies given on a regular basis will give the Assad side along with his allies the uncertainty that has been missing in Syria for quite some time. This uncertainty will be costly, allow for questioning from the homefront as to the long term commitment and help to lower the morale that has been through the roof on the "stronger side"!
