Not to bombing SyriaReader comment on item: No to Bombing Syria Submitted by Admiral Peter Kikareas (United States), Apr 7, 2017 at 00:29 Dear Dr. Pipes, Thank you for your brilliant article. I have been an operative insider in the Southeastern Flank of NATO for over 40 years and also the Architect of the Global Security of the Olympic Gamers in Athens 2004. What we did was a big mistake. In my opinion if not immediately have direct contacts on a Presidential Level with Russia at least, we run a great risk of elevating the crisis even further, and see Erdogan to find the opportunity to attack Greek Islands, and if closes the straits of Bosporus, we might see a war of Russia against Turkey. If we don't stay away defending our Allies, we might see a world war, a nuclear one, or a preemptive attack to our soil. Crisis Management in the area is not a toy for everyone to play with. It is a most difficult issue and I really can not understand why we did this unilaterally, when we have in the war Russia and Putin.I agree with you that we should not continue and stand back securing our Alliances. Yours Sincerely, Admiral Peter Kikareas Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please.
