Reader comment on item: No to Bombing Syria

I saw the line "..strengthen the weaker side" and thought "wait a minute, that makes no sense", and was prepared to deliver a scathing rebuttal (not really). I completely agree with the idea of leaving the people alone to sort out their own local cultural grievances.

That said, we have a vested interest in helping a side that is much more in alignment with the values of trade and negotiation as compared with war and acrimony. One produces, the other produces misery. Really, religion, as such, has nothing to do with it.
