Muslim only enclaves? That is the Islamic model, SirReader comment on item: Permit Muslim-only Enclaves? Submitted by Prashant, Nov 30, 2017 at 23:18 Dear Dr Pipes, in your blog you gave many examples of Muslim only enclaves from around the world. We have no choice, that is how the Islamic model works. Honestly, as much as we all may like diversity, we cannot honestly say that we are very comfortable in localities where too many women walk around in burkhas. But Muslims as a matter of habit and choice tend to eat, dress, and pray differently form every one else. And this is not a phenomenon just observed in the west. I have heard it from people from Sri Lanka, Myanmar, India, and many other countries that Muslims those countries do not try to mingle and create separate identities for themselves. The more they try to look different, the more people run away from them and the more isolation of Muslims increases. And, yes, Islamic my-way-or-highway injunction about marriages --if a Muslim marries a non-Muslim, the Muslim will neither be open minded nor will convert-- makes it even less desirable for most communities to have any desire of living near Islamic communities. Would any one, as a non-Muslim, like to raise a daughter near a Muslim community? For crying out loud, not until you desire to have mandatory Muslim grandchildren! These are hard facts about Islam. So Muslim-only enclaves occur naturally. They exist in every city in India. I am sure they exist in every society where Muslims exist. Isn't it also approximately the original Mecca/Medina Islamic doctrine. Wasn't Medina --in effect-- the first Muslim only enclave? The only solution to this problem is to challenge the Islamic doctrine in every possible way it can be challenged: --No it is no fun to listen to your prayers five times a day on loud speakers. -- No it is no fun that you wrap your women inside big burkhas so their behavior is confined from the very beginning. -- No it is no fun that you welcome converts more than any one else but have a concept like apostasy in your mind-set. -- No it is no fun that you want democracy everywhere in the world but do not even remotely consider freedom of religion/thought/speech in the lands that you occupy. -- No, it is no fun that you some how convince yourself to believe that any land that you occupy for whatever means becomes yours for ever. -- No it is no fun being told that we were all born Muslims but got misguided. -- No it is no fun that you think that your religion is the best and everything else is a sin. If there is no fun, then, what is fun? Briefly, Islamic doctrine is no fun for any non-Muslim to be around and it is no surprise that we have so many Muslim ghettos/enclaves. What can change this situation? Flexibility, open-mindedness, symmetry of behavior, democracy are some of the things that can change this situation.
