Submitted by Solomon2 (United States), Dec 11, 2017 at 11:50 Authority for the Jews to "closely settle" the area of the Palestine Mandate was authorized by the League of Nations, which recognized the Palestine Zionist Executive as the authorized representative with political rights. Article 80 prevents the U.N. from altering the terms of the Mandate without the Zionists' permission . What the U.N. did on November 29, 1947 that was actually legally enforceable was to recognize the Zionist Executive as the leadership of the Jewish State.
