Real solutions demand that we first recognize realityReader comment on item: Trump's Recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's Capital – What Does It Mean? Submitted by Michael S (United States), Dec 15, 2017 at 01:22 A day to celebrate, Daniel! President Trump is apparently taking a page from your doctrine that Israel needs to negotiate from the standpoint of -- ACTUAL, FACTUAL -- victory. The facts: 1. Israel defeated the Arabs in 1948, and every subsequent war, and 2. Jerusalem has been the capital of Israel since the founding of the modern state You recognize these facts, I recognize these facts, and President Trump publicly recognizes these facts... FACTS, not aspirations. When the rest of the world wakes up to this same reality, there is hope of a REAL peaceful solution. But as long as world leaders negotiate on the basis of fantasy, only a fantasy solution can come of it.
