It All Depends On Trump's Emotional ReactionsReader comment on item: The US-Israel Honeymoon May Not Last Submitted by Dave (United States), Feb 6, 2018 at 11:04 As events unfold, it seems that what President Trump does depends on his emotional reactions at the time - he's hardly the measured, analytical type. That's okay, as long as his instincts are sound and the PA leadership cooperates. Recall that when Trump found out that Abbas was lying about not subsidizing terrorists and practicing incitement, he was furious (as though that was a revelation!). That should hearten those who were fed up with Obama's prissy aloofness. In addition, Trump doesn't like to shell out American tax dollars to people who disrespect the US; that was much of the reason as to why he cut aid to UNRWA. Thus, while Trump probably knows about as much about Mideast history, religion and culture as he does about quantum physics, he at least has demonstrated some gut-level common sense. Going forward, Trump will continue his pro-Israel policies if the Palestinians and their allies cooperate by being negative, arrogant and most importantly, insult America - after all, they're chartered members of the Death to America club. I have a lot of confidence in them to follow through.

I expect the latter will realize their error at a certain point. Reader comments (36) on this item
