If Jerusalem is not Jewish, Mecca is not Muslim

Dear Dr Pipes, Regarding the writer Isabel Keshner's article in which she implied that Jerusalem is not in Israel, I do not know what will bring these delusional people to reality. Not only Israel currently owns and controls the region where Jerusalem is situated but also it has the moral authority to own that region. Just because Muhammad fantasized flying to Jerusalem, one day before he died does not make Jerusalem Islamic. What about people who lived there and did not even have to take a flight!

From an ethical point of view, if Jerusalem is not Jewish, Mecca need not be Islamic. It is as simple as that. I hope some day Elisabeth Kershner writes an article describing to people like me why should Mecca be Islamic.
