DisagreeReader comment on item: The US-Israel Honeymoon May Not Last Submitted by Alex (United States), Feb 8, 2018 at 17:19 With all due respect, I'd like to reassure Dr. Pipes that I think he's just way off on this prediction--not because the generally surmise-able nuts and bolts of President Trump's Middle Ease "peace" plan are not worrisome in the ways Dr. Pipes indicates, but because the Jerusalem decision carries its own moral logic that will undermine that plan. Extending the private recognition of Israeli sovereignty in choosing a capital city into official, permanent US foreign policy literally reverses who can put pressure on who between the US and Israel, even if neither Donald Trump nor Benjamin Netanyahu (nor Mahmoud Abbas) knows it ... yet.
