Brilliant reactions from brilliant leadersReader comment on item: Reservations about the Trump Peace Plan Submitted by Jeff (United States), Jan 30, 2020 at 22:12 We didn't have to wait long for the reaction this time. President Dr. Abbas quickly gave us his thoughts: At least he spared us the protracted negotiations before finally rejecting everything out of hand. A nice departure from his predecessor. Maybe it was the part about Palestinians working at a million new jobs instead of living off a worldwide welfare system that enriches him that caused Dr. Abbas' lightening fast rejection. Hamas chimed in with a commonsense approach, saying the deal was aiming "to liquidate the Palestinian national project." So pushing the Jews into the sea is now a "national project." Nice. And "liquidate" is such an eloquent way to put it. Ilhan Omar appeared to agree with Hamas: "This is not a peace plan. It is theft. It is erasure" (almost back to that word liquidate again). Liz Warren called it a sham and unilateral annexation. Amidst all the comments and opinions, Dr. Pipes succinctly brings us back to the one constant and tragically simple reality: "Their century-long rejection of Jews, Judaism, Zionism, and Israel is the one and only problem preventing a solution; it must end, immediately, completely." Until it does end, every peace plan other than a Jewish genocide will also receive a thousand no's.
