Continuing The Thinking That The Ottoman Regime Cannot Restrain Their AmbitionsReader comment on item: A Short Conversation with Daniel Pipes Submitted by M Tovey (United States), Jul 14, 2020 at 17:30 Now looking shortly back at the fundamentalist attitudes of the resurgent Islamist thinking they can return to the glory days before losing all in the first part of the twentieth century, people who have a hard time with remembering the truth of history are looking at the beginning of the second attempt to make Turkey great again. Appropriating the Hagia Sophia for the second time is one thing; thinking to do the same in Jerusalem is another. There is a reason the Jewish State has not yet commenced reconstruction of Ezekiel's third Temple, and it is simple. Not all precursors to that event have been accomplished (Malachi 1-3). Does the leader of Turkey really intend to be the head of the lesson the world is set to learn about not messing with Israel? At this juncture, his ambition does not appear to have that limit of reason. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
