The Highly Shocking Observation of An Interrupted Contemplation:
One does not contemplate the uncounted observations of the antipathies that are roiling throughout the Middle East and while doing so, attempt to determine which significant event that stands out amongst the rest with the thinking that any could be the straw that breaks the camel's back and all out conflagration will ensue. While it is further observed that the 'West' is engrossed with imposing its will upon a reluctant Israel and the majority of the rest of the Middle East is evidently more than willing to be the agents of that imposition, all of it appears to be part of the legends of imperial domination going back centuries, even millennia; that as written by the ancients and mimicked by modern despots all such things happen as a matter of course: there is nothing new under the sun. Yes; that is a quote from the Hebrew Holy Scriptures.
All of that contemporary contemplation came to a shocking and deafening halt when the video of the decimation of Beirut's center was aired world-wide to an audience left in similar shock. In the uncounted repeats of video and screen shots of the explosion that will make all other such incidents in Lebanon potentially appear secondary by comparison (although the American Marines barracks attack comes to mind), the incredulous graphic image of such intense disruption of the senses can barely be described except as some have attempted by making the contrast of the bombing of the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki (decidedly exaggerated).
While many are making accusations of who might be at fault or are culpable, and in response declaring innocence or making excuses as to why they are not to be blamed in spite of their enmity towards certain animosities, investigations by various sectors of local government and the international community are flush with the possibilities of cause and effect; however as a quote from a movie goes, 'the data support no conclusion,' as yet. However, tensions are running high and it remains to be seen whether or not this 'incident' happened due to the unfortunate circumstances of knowingly stockpiling ammonium nitrate in such concentration that something like this would take on appearances of the consequences of inevitability.
For this to be viewed in a more sinister situation, the cabal of suspects are too many to count, though certainly the capabilities of potential malefactors could lead to some pretty remarkable possibilities. Wars have been started on less than comparable situations and this one does not get a pass for just exactly that reason; is it that someone, anyone of the antagonists in the region, are no longer of the mind to wait? Other actions of other actors in the region, even in the south of Lebanon, are on pins and needles and appear impatient. While not necessarily trying to make out that this might be the 'trigger' for increased hostilities, it certainly cannot be dismissed.
In the final analysis, one other factor that has been broached, but not yet vetted, is retaliation; and all actors in the region are possibly so motivated. Turkey's activities are not unnoticed; Syria's are infamously notorious; the Islamic Regime's proxies (despite the disclaimer); all have motive.
But who really has the most, or the least to lose, if somehow, actual responsibility is found out? Who, really(?)will it be? It is written: that which is done is secret will always be revealed.
