Trump won in substance. He failed in style.Reader comment on item: "Republican Mob" Was Once an Oxymoron, Now It's a Reality Submitted by Prashant (United States), Jan 16, 2021 at 20:39 Dear Dr Pipes, COVID-19 became President Trump's achilles heel. If he had the wisdom and composure to handle COVID-19 correctly, no democrat could have defeated in the 2020 election. When I look back, I still find myself in agreement with most of Trump's positions. I thank him for standing up to Islamic nations. I thank him to standing up to China. I thank him for telling the western European nations that their leftist ways do no good to any one. I thank him for his efforts to bring manufacturing back to USA. I am very very thankful to him for calling illegal immigration what it truly is: illegal!. I thank him for being a friend of Israel and India. I thank him for telling the black Americans that they are everyone's partners and no one's victims (any more). By the way of contrast, I disagree with almost every position of the democrats. Mr Trump's substance was all good but unfortunately, his style was unnecessarily belligerent. And it is our misfortune that Trump's style was so bad. If only he had not picked fights in our war on COVID. If only he had let some competent people lead that fight as they seemed fit.
