In my view, Trump made two critical mistakes.

One. In the end, Trump continued the two-state delusion, with regard to Judea-Samaria. He made the mistake in the name of better diplomatic relations between Israel and certain Arab states, and Israelis seem happy enough with the sacrifice. But in the end, a mistake it is. In a spooky way, the betrayal of Judea-Samaria cost Trump the election. It will probably cost Ntanyahu his election too.

Two. More pragmatically, Trump indulged the hatespeakers among his religious extremist 'base', including the anti-abortionists, the anti-trans, and the anti-gays. This shift toward hate just before the election scared away enough moderate voters, especially women voters. It cost Trump the election.

Like most Trump supporters, I could care less about his superficial style and character. What matters is if his policies are reasonable, and if they happen. Trump does his JOB of presidency well.
