To Whom the Island of the Lost CauseReader comment on item: The Key Issue of Hamas vs. Israel Submitted by leonard oken (United States), May 27, 2021 at 13:19 Mr. Pipes hits it on the head as to the recent causes for this last Hamas-Israeli War. The 450,000 Jews living in Judea and Samaria would not live under Palestinian rule under any circumstances even if Abbas greeted them with open arms the way Poland first greeted it's Jewish population in the Middle Ages. It's a weak argument for the status quo., everybody knows that but remains a poor argument point for Israeli annexation. These Jews should and deserve to live in their towns and villages under Israeli rule. After all it is the Homeland. Finally ,Palestinians will NEVER consider their goals hopeless as long as the Middle East remain a Muslim region and take the gist of the Koran seriously. A mirror image of Israel's Jewish inhabitants and the Hebrew Bible. Whether this is a lost cause for the Palestinians or the Israelis is exactly what these two groups are fighting for today.

Anyway, it would not be all of them, as borders could be adjusted. Reader comments (31) on this item
