Iftikhar Ahmad's shameful letterReader comment on item: Muslims "Lagging Behind" Submitted by Prashant (United States), Jun 13, 2022 at 00:00 Dear Dr Pipes, Iftikhar Ahmad wrote his message from the UK in 2006. I hope he has changed his views in 16 years since but the 2006 version of his views was disgraceful. Mr. Ahmad shamelessly assumed that it was the job of the United Kingdom to educate migrant Muslim children in their mother tongues. He did not even think about the additional cost that such multi-lingual education will assume on the host society. Muslims are the biggest users of the welfare in every country that they live in. I suggest that all migrant Muslim children should learn to mow the neighbor's grass, use the proceeds to buy themselves soccer balls, and go to soccer fields in the afternoons (instead of going to the madrassas). They will automatically learn English! I can say it because I have seen hundreds of migrant Indian kids in the US. They all learned English riding bikes in the neighborhood. Depending on welfare 24x7x365 and complaining helps no one. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
