BHO contribution to spread of Muslim Brotherhood

I want to concentrate my comment on Cynthia Farahat's criticism of US policy regarding the MB.

As you stated, Cynthia Farahat emigrated to US a decade ago with a lot of knowledge about MB in the Middle East in general and Egypt in particular. However, she missed important portion of Barack Hussein Obama (BHO) presidency.

I don't think that BHO was a MB member but his contribution to spreading the influence of MB in the world was a major factor. The MB did not need lots of effort to succeed in hiding its true aims, BHO White House covered up for them. Not only were they welcome guests to the White House, BHO did whatever he could to advance the interests of Islam in world and shield it from criticism.

BHO started his presidency with apology tour to the Middle East. He gave a great speech in Cairo. Among other things he criticized US rules of charitable giving that makes it harder for Muslims to fulfill their religious obligation to donate to Muslim causes (i.e., support terrorist organizations) he promised to rectify this "problem".

BHO's major effort to advance the ideology of MB was his involvement in promoting the Arabs spring. He did it under the guise of advancing democracy. He was fully aware that replacing the traditional tribal or military governments by democracy will not hold in any Arab (and Muslim) country. It was clear just by watching what transpired following the removal of Saddam Hussein and removal of the Shah in Iran. It was predictable that a wannabe -democratic government will be toppled by a military cue or a theocratic uprising. MB that had the organization and the radical Islam ideology were the natural beneficiaries of the change of government.

BHO became personally involved in promotion of the Arabs spring in Egypt. He pressured Mubarak to resign and allow democratic election. I watched it on TV how he cleverly manipulated a reluctant Canadian PM Harper to agree to the demand that Mubarak should resign. Both learned the lesson of Iran that democratic elections in Islamic countries bring theocracy to power. Harper once said that he considers Islamism as the biggest danger to the world. Therefore, he was reluctant to comply but following urging of BHO he gave in. As expected, MB won democratically the power of Egypt. BHO boasted in his speech to the UN general assembly on September 25, 2012, of his contribution to the change in government of Egypt. He said: "We insisted on change in Egypt, because our support for democracy ultimately put us on the side of the people." (There were many other pro-Islamic pearls in that speech.)

The new president Mohamed Morsi quickly assumed the power of dictator. Calling Jews, the descendants of pigs and monkeys and threatening rescind the peace treaty with Israel. That did not bother BHO, and he allowed transfer of F-16s fighter planes to Egypt. When the Egyptian rebelled against the tyranny of Morsi and Abdel Fattah El-Sisi came to power on July 3, 2013, the delivery of the F-16s was quickly canceled.

BHO also contributed to spread of MB by promoting the Arab spring to Libya and Syria. In Libya he encouraged Italy and France to try to depose Muammar Qaddafi by supporting "democratic" organizations. When Muammar Qaddafi prevailed against the French and the Italians, BHO made available US carrier-based aircrafts under command of NATO to finish off Muammar Qaddafi. As expected, radical Islamists became the powerbroker in Libya.

Syria was the last country in Middle East that became victim of the Arabs spring craze. Bashar Assad ruled the country with iron grip and put down any protests to his rule. BHO could not resist the urge to meddle in the affairs of Syria following crackdown on protesters. In August 2011 BHO called on Assad to resign and froze the assets of Syrian government in the US. As the unrest and fighting between the government and protesters developed it became more vicious. In June 2013 US officials concluded that Assad used chemical weapons against the rebels. BHO declared that it is a redline, that additional use of chemical weapons will draw US retaliation.

The fighting continued with the situation changed from bad to worse and eventually spawned ISIS that BHO dismissively called JV team. The atrocities of ISIS prompted flight of enormous number of people from their homes. Large number of them ended up in Europe as refugees. MB used the opportunity sending many MB members as refugees to spread its terror network to Europe. It resulted in terrorist events in France, Germany, Belgium, and GB.
