Was Obama Naive? And were Liberal Jews who supported him partly responsible for his election?Reader comment on item: A Century of the Muslim Brotherhood Submitted by Robert (United States), Sep 24, 2022 at 00:19 I find your analysis extremely informative. For me "the final straw" came when Obama, at the end of his administration to order (UN Ambassador) Kelly to exercise his veto power at the UN in favor of Israel and against Israel. (1) I wonder how much his bad policy was due to his naivete, partly because he succeeded in getting elected US President and assumed that the Arab and Muslim world, or people, would accept him as we Americans did. I suspected that his electoral success in the US "went to his head" and he believed he could be the "president of the world." (2) But I also think that the Chicago liberal Jewish politician (I forgot his name now) who backed him and was extremely close to him is also partly responsible for not resigning when it came to the vote at the UN involving Israels interests. In other words, the left wing Jewish constituency (excluding myself) who believed in him and strongly supported his election was partially responsible for his anti-Israel policies. I, on the other hand, had to choose between the USA and Israel and voted for Obama because I believed than an "African American" Presidency would prove that Institutional Racism is finally over. What I find extremely disappointing was the indifference and vindictiveness against Netanyahu by Obama resulting in an anti-Israel and Anti-Jewish vote at the UN, and for this I partly blame the liberal Jewish lobby that was blind to its own interests in the Presidency of Obama. But what I do not know is whether Obama International policies were the consequences of his mistakes or indifference to his Jewish and Israeli interests and Islamist (Muslim Brotherhood) dangers, Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
