2020 December "Al-Azhar decrees prohibition of joining Muslim Brotherhood"Reader comment on item: A Century of the Muslim Brotherhood Submitted by Robert (United States), Sep 28, 2022 at 10:58 Dear Dr. Daniel Pipes, Cynthia's book is currently $30 on Amazon.com and I have not yet purchased a copy. Reading your review I was shocked to discover the extent of infiltration of the Muslim Brotherhood within Al-Azhar University of Cairo, Egypt, which is considered to most prestigious and scholarly school on the subject of Islam. So that inspired me to search for the status of the M. Brethren under Sisi. So I found this: "Al-Azhar decrees prohibition of joining Muslim Brotherhood" Since 1965, officially, it was unacceptable to be a member of it. But under Sisi a Fatwah now exists against it. So it appears that under Egypt's Sisi administration being a Muslim Brother is a violation of Sharia for the first time, and only in the last 2 years. Care to comment on this observation? And why doesn't our CIA inform Biden of this transformation (I assumes he isn't informed)? This one fact significantly relates to our foreign policy regarding Egypt. Reasoned disagreement is welcome but not comments that are scurrilous, off-topic, commercial, disparaging religions, or otherwise inappropriate.
