Show us your face, please!Reader comment on item: An Unveiling: Separate, but Acceptable? Submitted by Octavio Johanson (Italy), Nov 15, 2006 at 11:00 For security reasons, the burqua cannot be accepted in Europe and in any western country. It is not acceptable for an individual to walk in the street without being recognizable. Holland will soon ban the burqua for the same reasons implied by Daniel Pipes. I don't always agree with Doctor Pipes and his view of "exporting democracy". However, when it comes to issues such as the burqua, Daniel Pipes is ahead of his European colleagues. We cannot allow women to walk inside airports, hospitals and banks without showing their faces. I hope Holland will impose a total ban on the burqua, and the rest of Europe will follow suit.
