I love Muslims.....Reader comment on item: An Unveiling: Separate, but Acceptable? Submitted by donvan (United States), Feb 5, 2007 at 09:51 The term "Muhammedian" does not mean that Muslims worship Muhammed, the founder of Islam. It simply means that all Muslims view Muhammed as a revered person and the a messenger from god, who is the example for Muslims to follow. The term is used to include all sects of Muslims, from any place, at any time. As a non Muhammedian, ( infidel to the haters) It is insignificant to me if a Muslim psycologically considers himself a sunni, shiite, sufi, whatever, all view Muhammed as the messenger and therefore the founder and examplar of the Islamic cult. I have known Muslims who chose to be kind, tolerant, and good citizens, they are nonetheless Muhammedian. It is interesting that the term which is, argueably archaic, stirs such passions in Muslims. One would think that Muslims would be proud to be refered to as "Muhammedian". Other belief systems are called by the name of their founders. Christians, Hindis, Zororastrans, Marxists, yet only the Muslims seem to take offense to a completely legitimate word which is not disrespectful, or insulting. Seems almost cult like.....
