To Sheikh Thani on the Koran needing no defenceReader comment on item: How the West Could Lose Submitted by Plato (United Arab Emirates), Jan 25, 2007 at 07:37 Sheikh Thani your wrote: "The Quran needs no defence. Save your Bible violence "verses". who cares about the Bible? who recognizes the Bible? you gave the Bible more value than it worths. The Quran is the heart of Debate and Must remain. it is the truth and that is why so much attention is centered around it." Welcome to the blog Sheikh Thani, and spoken like a true Muslim. You are right, the Koran does not need to be defended. It needs to be "attacked" ie debated to the last comma. Yes the Koran is the heart of the debate, as you say. Because it is the heart of the problem the world is facing today. I'll come to that later. It must be discussed, analysed and debated threadbare to the final full stop. Let us make a start. The world will be all the better for it and our children will sleep safer. You ask who cares about the Bible. The Koran Mr. Sheikh. Who recognises the Bible. The Koran Mr. Sheikh. Who gives the Bible its value. The Koran Mr. Sheikh. Take out your Koran for confirmation of these verses: 003.003 : It is He Who sent down to thee (step by step), in truth, the Book, confirming what went before it; and He sent down the Law (of Moses) and the Gospel (of Jesus) before this, as a guide to mankind, and He sent down the criterion (of judgment between right and wrong). 005.046 : And in their footsteps We sent Jesus the son of Mary, confirming the Law that had come before him: We sent him the Gospel: therein was guidance and light, and confirmation of the Law that had come before him: a guidance and an admonition to those who fear Allah. 007.157 : "Those who follow the messenger, the unlettered Prophet, whom they find mentioned in their own (scriptures),- in the law and the Gospel;- for he commands them what is just and forbids them what is evil; he allows them as lawful what is good (and pure) and prohibits them from what is bad (and impure); He releases them from their heavy burdens and from the yokes that are upon them. So it is those who believe in him, honour him, help him, and follow the light which is sent down with him,- it is they who will prosper." You will notice Mr. Sheikh the Koran is the book that confirms what went before. Without the Bible how will you confirm what is in your Book? The Gospel itself was a confirmation of the Law that came before it. You are in a double bind now Mr. Sheikh with the Jewish Law being at the pinnacle of it all. (003:003, 005:046). The Koran says the Prophet is confirmed in the Gospel (007:157). Now tell me the Koran does not care, recognise or values the Bible. The Koran stands and falls with what is contained in the Bible as the Koran itself says. Will you say the Bible is corrupted, lost. Then you have no confirmation for the Koran or the Prophet except itself. And all books can confirm thelselves! Now for the heart of the problem which I said I will come to? Read these from the Koran: " 9:111 GOD has bought from the believers their lives and their money in exchange for Paradise. Thus, they fight in the cause of GOD, willing to kill and get killed. Such is His truthful pledge in the Torah, the Gospel, and the Quran - and who fulfills His pledge better than GOD? You shall rejoice in making such an exchange. This is the greatest triumph." 061.010 -012: O ye who believe! Shall I lead you to a bargain that will save you from a grievous Penalty?- That ye believe in Allah and His Messenger, and that ye strive (your utmost) in the Cause of Allah, with your property and your persons: That will be best for you, if ye but knew! He will forgive you your sins, and admit you to Gardens beneath which Rivers flow, and to beautiful mansions in Gardens of Eternity: that is indeed the Supreme Achievement. Now in 9:111 is god making a binding contract with Muslims to kill and be killed for paradise or not? Come up with context, subtleties of the Arabic language or anything else showing that Allah is NOT making a BINDING promise for killing in his cause. Show with context and meaning of Arabic words that for sacrificing life and property Allah is NOT offering paradise as a bargain. Now do you see why there are suicide bombers and violence all over the Islamic world. Allah has bound himself to open the doors of paradise for those who kill and die in his cause, and NO CONDITIONS APPLY. If you truly believe in it you will do it too as Allah has given you such an easy passage to Jannat. All it needs is a fatwa from some half-crazed imam to show a half-wit believer that Allah's cause beckons. You know Mr. Sheikh 9:111 is the only ayat, that I know of, where Allah makes such a BINDING promise. In all other ayats, He qualifies his promise by saying if He wills/wishes. Mr. Sheikh, when you come to these blogs merely throwing out a few angry sounding sentences is insufficient without anything to back it up. You will have noticed people here try to back up their contentions with some material that substantiates their views.
