I think I can tell you why, TerryReader comment on item: How the West Could Lose Submitted by Noah Wilk (United States), Jan 31, 2007 at 06:23 Terry H. wrote: "Your challenge, Noah, is so simple, so logical, you'd wonder why haven't those millions of Muslims asked themselves the same thing before." True, you'd think they'd eventually wonder why. And to us it seems so simple, so logical. I think I can tell you why the Muslims continue to support their depraved ideology of death worship though. We need to remember that Islam was founded by an Arabic warlord in order to unite an Arabic people. Arabs have a tribal society. They are not "civilized" by Western standards. If we didn't suffer from rampant political correctness, we would accurately refer to them as barbarians. I have copies of an excellent article, but no link. The article is far too long to cut and paste here (14 pages). However, if anyone wants a copy, just post an email address for me to send it to. Or, you can Google for: "Learning to Think like an Arab Muslim: a Short Guide to Understanding the Arab Mentality" by Edward V. Badolato (1980) As he points out in the article, Muslims/Arabs believe that everyone else is an infidel and therefore everyone else is a threat to Islam. Hence, they must all be converted or killed. Arabs have a saying: "I against my brother. My brother and I against our cousins. My brother, my cousins and I against the world." This is one major reason we have problems in Iraq now. Most Arabs are Muslim. Arabs in their tribal mentality respect only force, power, control. Negotiation to them is weakness. Tribal people are generally hot tempered and highly emotional, prone to making decisions based on emotions and not logic. They don't even have the capacity to use logic the way we do. So for example, when a Westerner is insulted, he will think logically..."I may be offended by this, but that doesn't give me the right to hit the other person. Besides, I may go to jail or be forced to pay his medical bills if I hurt him". A tribal person on the other hand, only sees the need to "save face". It is a visceral, highly emotional response that has nothing to do with logic. The person hurling the perceived insult (which may not even be an actual insult except in the tribal person's mind) must be punished. Harshly. He attacks, because that is the only way he knows how to respond. Wait a sec...found the link! :-) http://www.blackwaterusa.com/btw2004/articles/0503arabs.html Arabs and Muslims have always been incapable of keeping up with modern times and technology. Almost all Arabic/Muslim countries are more like the 7th century than the 21st. All they have is their tribal indentity. And that tribal identity has been merged with a religion that endorses and was in fact created to cater to the violent tribal tendencies of the Arab tribes. Islam declares itself the only true religion, and that fits in well with the Arabic/Muslim mentality of "me, my brother, and my cousin against the infidels". It explains why so many Arabs and Muslims actually say they prefer Saddam ruling Iraq than the Americans running things. You had a brutal dictator that was committing atrocities against his own people and who ruled a tyrannical police state where people lived in fear of their lives, but you know what? He was one of theirs, and that means they back him over us. That's just how it is. Tribal mentality. Americans and Westerners have trouble understanding this. It's also a matter of hate, as you suggest. The average Arab/Muslim lives in poverty, with no freedoms, no wealth, no ownership of property, often no job, and no future because of the repressive religion that forces them to remain in the 7th century. So this sets up a spiritual/emotional conflict (note that I did not mention mental conflict). On one hand, they believe that theirs is the one true religion, that they are Allah's favored, and that Allah blesses them and will grant them success and victory. And yet how many times have Arabic/Muslim countries teamed up to invade Israel only to have their collective asses handed to them by that tiny Jewish nation? Imagine the anger, the conflict, the confusion this creates in their primitive minds. And since their religion prevents them from achieving what the West has achieved, this irritates their sense of pride. If they're so much better, why aren't they happy? Why aren't they achieving? They've been around for over 1,400 years and yet they still live in medieval style. In the meantime, it took America less than 200 years to invent computers, split the atom, and land a man on the moon. Imagine the ego blow that is to them. This is precisely why, for example, the Muslims when they invaded India stole the Indian science of Ayurvedic Medicine, bastardized it, and called it Arabic Unanni medicine. They then claimed to have "created" the greatest medical system on earth. They were forced to steal others' accomplishments and claim them as their own. We see this phenomenon in all cultures that have achieved nothing. Note how many blacks insist that Jesus Christ was a negro and that blacks designed and built the pyramids. When you have nothing, you claim something. And yet they cannot forsake Islam, because in their minds that is the one thing that makes them better than us. They believe they have a true religion. Because they realize deep inside that their culture is vastly inferior to Western culture, they are forced to cling to Islam. If they abandon Islam, they have nothing. It's a pretty warped worldview and hard for most people to understand. Next, you wrote: "What makes people deliberately ignore plain facts and a sense of self-preservation, Noah, I'd just like to know." You know, this still puzzles me to some degree, and I believe it is a matter of several things merging together. Perhaps we have it too easy and we've gotten fat and lazy. Americans, and to an even more disturbing degree Europeans, have gotten used to the state looking after them. Welfare states, socialist programs, etc. Who need to save money for retirement? We have Social Security! Lost your job? No problem! We have unemployment insurance! People in the West have lost their survival instinct because we have it so easy. And in many cases this is compounded by guilt. Perhaps we believe we're unworthy. We probably are. We no longer defend our rights, we no longer tend to our survival. Everything is handed to us. I have noticed that it's usually wealthy liberals who have led pampered lives who tend to favor the enemy and root against America. You don't generally see that from the working class. Compound this with the generally terrible health of most Americans, and we see literal mental illness. We eat "foods" laden with chemicals that disrupt hormones, we eat all sorts of bad fats and poor quality proteins and we pop antacids like they were going out of style, so we cannot digest our proteins properly and therefore neuropeptides are incorrectly manufactured in the body. This creates brain dysfunction. Is it coincidence that the rates of depression and mental illness are at an all time high? That our children are getting more and more stupid each passing year? I believe that all these things compound to form a mental and emotional malaise, a spiritual lassitude, which is killing us from within. It has become literally a suicidal dysfunction and it must be reversed if we hope to survive. That's my take on it, anyway. Let me know what you think.
