I don't know about "Moderate", but it sure is "Typical"!Reader comment on item: How the West Could Lose Submitted by Noah Wilk (United States), Feb 25, 2007 at 22:30 Moderate Muslim, you're typical of the average Muslim. You become incensed when anyone speaks the truth about your..."prophet", and you accuse them of lying and of spouting BS. Then when that person presents you with historical fact that totally backs his claims, you try changing the subject. . When the other person drags you back to the argument at hand, you tell them you're not going to discuss it anymore, or you post typical Muslim apologist nonsense (without citations of course!) that fly in the face of what the vast majority of historians believe and/or have proven. This is Typical Muslim Behavior TM. I'll just randomly shoot down your questions and claims in this one single post, instead of replying to each individually. First, you wrote: "In Leviticus 19:19, dhimmi, susan, and noah, check your clothing. Is God demanding that you die for wearing cloth made from 2 different threads?" We've covered this many, many times before. You're quoting the Old Testament. In the New Testament, Jesus arrives on the scene and his peaceful teachings supercede those of the Old Testament. Hence, "an eye for an eye" becomes "turn the other cheek". The New Testamant and Jesus's peaceful verses supercede totally the Old Testament violence. This it precisely the opposite of Islam, where the later and more frequently violent verses supercede any earlier peaceful ones. Hence, Christianity became peaceful in its teachings, while Islam became (more) violent. The Koran also has roughly twice the percentage of violent verses as the Bible. You also need to look around the world and see the actions of each religion. We do not seeing Christians stoning other Christians for working on the Sabbath, for blaspheming God's name, etc. Christians simply do not perform those atrocities, and look at them as archaic and improper behavior. The prophet of Christianity, Jesus, peaches peace. Nowhere in any Christian country do Christians engage in such barbarity. If any such incident should occur, it is an extremely rare and isolated incident that receives nothing but condemnation from the church and its followers, not praise as we see in Islam. In comparison, everwhere we look in the world, we see atrocities being committed by Muslims as justified in their Koran, by their clerics, and above all by their prophet, Mohammed. Where the Catholic Pope condemns war and killing, you have high ranking clerics in Islam making rulings that say using nuclear weapons to committ terrorist attacks against America is justified according to Islam, and they justify it using the Koran. You'd be hard pressed to find a single Christian minister, Catholic priest, Buddhist monk, or Hindu priest on the planet who believes that we should launch a nuclear weapon or who would justify that sort of atrocity using their religion to endorse it. On the contrary, they condemn such action. On the flip side, Muslim clerics issue such violent fatwas every day. You almost can't spit randomly into a crowd without hitting a Muslim cleric who endorses terrorism. You don't see Christians murdering innocent people for drawing cartoons of Jesus, you don't see them posting death sentences towards those who write books critical of their religion. You don't see then stabbing film-makers for making films critical of their religion. You don't see them rioting, arsoning, raping, murdering, and engaging in barbarity for such things. However, we do see such behavior in Islam on an almost daily basis for those very things. You also need to look at what each religion has produced. Look at any Christian country. Look at America for example. We have more freedoms, more rights, higher quality of life, better medical care, and so on and so forth, than almost any other nation. Most Christian nations are like that...free, happy, prosperous. Compare that to the effect Islam has had on ever nation where it holds power. All you see is poverty, misery, suppression of rights, religious intolerance, fanaticism, barbarity, sexism, lack of education, ignorance. You can't blame that on America. We don't run Saudi Arabia or Iran or Syria, etc. Islam is the problem. Finally, "Moderate" Muslim, in your post here: http://www.danielpipes.org/comments/78816 You kill your own argument. First, there is no citation beyond "Some Muslim scholar", which for all we know could mean Osama Bin Laden. Second, your quote from your "Muslim scholar" flies in the face of historical reality and goes against the facts as presented by the majority of historians and scholars on the subject of Islam. Finally, the post itself verifies my claim about the barbarity and ignorance of Islam. This part in particular: "Every Muslim has to respect and regard highly the Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam). Likewise, he has to honor all the Prophets and believe in their infallibility. One has to believe that they are chosen personalities, Allah protect them from all abominable acts and deeds. This is a generally accepted fact, no one disagrees with it except Jews who blame the Prophets of bad things and atheists who do not respect Allah, and His Prophets and who do not recognize their rights. After believing in this known and well-established fact if one comes across any report that is contrary to the above fact, it does not make one dubious as either it is a fabricated story or it is to be interpreted in a way that suits the honorable status of the prophet." Translation: Mohammed can do no wrong, and any atrocity he commits is not an atrocity but rather a fabrication of the nasty Zionists. This is precisely why Muslims are ignorant and uneducated. They cannot believe there is anything wrong with their death cult. And this part: "Indeed, her marriage with the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) was a blessing of Allah who honoured her by this marriage; due to this marriage she became the mother of all believers. All Muslims ask Allah's blessings for her till the Day of Judgement. Translation: Don't worry...Allah knows best! If he sends Mohammed to slaughter your husbands and rape your wives and children, it may be a thing you dislike, but it's good for you! It's an honor (in Islam, anyway) to be raped by the man who slaughtered your husband, killed off your village, and enslaved your children! Unreal.... Moderate Muslim, why not change your name to Typical Muslim, because that's what you are...
