Is Jdate working? Are Israelis more "Americanized and Europeanized" more than they realize?Reader comment on item: Jewish and Arab Demographics in Jerusalem Submitted by James Burke (Canada), May 10, 2007 at 09:03 Worlwide, the average age of the Jewish people is above the average age of the countries in which they live. May we also include Jersusalem in this comparison test also? If so, the results may be further disappointing? Maybe because Jerusalem is not along the coast and thus too far from the beach? They problem with the Jewish people is that they have succumbed to what is around them. They like nice things. And nice things carry big price tags; cars, clothing, restaurants, ie, "living the good life" and travelling. Not conducive to having babies. They get in the way. When they do look for a mate, particularly the females, he must be perfect with a great career and fit into her lifestyle. Anti-JFk: what can you do for me not what can I do for you? Many of the Jdate users only search by zip codes; Manhattan, LA, Miami. Having a professional title is very very important to the females. And they have their own career of pushing paper in marketing firms. And their debit card must match the color of their cell phones. Pointy shoes, BMW and cell phones. It sounds like simplistic parody but a good part of what I just wrote is true. The Israeli govt will have to subsidize housing for young Jewish families ( as did West Germany did to assist those wishing to relocate to West Berlin) to move there. Maybe with enough new people, new companies ( subsidized to relocate) J'salem may become an even more attractive place to live and work Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
