Jewish sovereignty over the Holy LandReader comment on item: Jewish and Arab Demographics in Jerusalem Submitted by yuval brandstetter MD (Israel), Jun 7, 2007 at 03:51 Dr Pipes contends Jewish aspirations for sovereignty over Greater Jerusalem are overly ambitious, which means someone else should be the sovereign in Greater Jerusalem. Well, there is a foreign sovereign in Greater Jerusalem which is the PA, whose parliament and government ()Mukat'a) are in Ramallah, a scant 8 KM from central Jerusalem. Arab citrizens of jerusalem vote for the Parliament and are therefore responsible for the HAMAS government in place. What are the outcomes of this dereliction of sovereignty? Jerusalem is the only Capital city of any nation whose airport is unuseable due to gunfire emanating from the neighborhood. Would the US agree to have Washington's airports under fire? to make things worse the foreign sovereignty established by the PA is invading the airwaves so that communications of Ben Gurion airport within so called Israel Proper are cut, endageruing all travel. I guess that means that Israel's aspirations to have unrestricted airtravel is over-ambitious. In fact the whole idea of jewish homeland within the arab sphere is overly ambitious. I am sure HAMAS and their supporters in antisemitic western media are well content with this conclusion. Jewish sovereignty in the Holy Land is indivisible, as is the country. At some point even the most obtuse elected officials who kow-tow to the State Department will see that. It is high time to restate the non-ambitious plan of justice meted out in 1922. The Jewish national home to be established in the Holy Land, all foreign aspirants to sovereignty to be repatriated to the Arab side of the Rift, that is the true Palestinian homeland.
