Pipes' Perceptions of State Dept. PersonnelReader comment on item: "A Shot at Peace" Submitted by Roberta E. Dzubow (United States), Jul 8, 2003 at 23:09 I applaud most of Daniel Pipes' assessments and conclusions. One blind spot that I feel exists is his trust and belief in the U.S. State Dep't. Dr. Pipes once commented to me, in his audience, that he saw no overt anti-Israeli sentiments there.I totally disagree. They hire and retain the same like-minded pro- Arab people. There are no identifiable people that work there that are solidly in Israel's corner. The few Jews are the Aaron Miller, David Ross types, all "far left" people. When I atttended the ZOA convention, the one lonely Jew who spoke to us from the State Dept. (Wurmser, I think) had to temper his words to us.... The State Department is riddled with apologists for Arab behavior. They whitewash what should be revealed. They refuse to hold accountable Arab killers of Americans, and do not post their pictures on the websight they were FORCED to finally set-up. If Colin Powell came in to office and really cleaned house there he would do our country a great service. Instead, he is surrounded by Arab apologists and he has succumbed to their thinking (giving him the benefit of the doubt, that he once was an honest and honorable American). Now, he endangers Israel by insisting it comply with policies he would never agree to for US soldiers in Iraq.
