More ominous signs

I heard today that the U.S. is about to release more than $ 22,000,000 directly to the PA. I think that this doesn't do very much to grant respectabiity to the new(?) PA regime, but it does reinforce the PA's notion that pursuing violence begets benefits.

I fear that the Bush Admin. will make every effort to make the Road Map appear to be working for reelection political purposes. Failure of a foregin policy initiative does not make for positive reelection spin.

Finally, as long as there are active organizations dedicated to the destruction of Israel, there an be no meaningful peace in the region. Iran supports much of the ongoing terrorist activity and shows no sign of relenting. Unless Iran can be dissuaded from continuing to sponsor these groups, nothing good of a long-lasting nature can happen.
