As in Pakistan, there is a not-too-subtle agreement among government agencies and private business owners/managers that Christians are not to be hired, and there is no law, like there is in the states, that says an employer cannot ask your religion. In fact, in many Muslim countries your identification is marked, and if you don't have the Muslim mark on your ID, good luck on your job search, renting or buying property, or anything else. You'll be relegated to poverty.

In Pakistan there are virtual colonies of Christians who can't get jobs except for kiln work and the hardest kinds of labor. They not only can't afford housing, they couldn't get it even if they could, so they live together in squalid conditions and villages that are actually marked as Christian colonies. Women here are abducted and raped at will with no recourse, some left for dead, and men defending them sometimes killed. Muslim gangs flock to these villages to beat and terrorize the men, rape the women, and burn and destroy their ranshackled homes and small brick rooms of worship whenever something in the world pisses them off, like a cartoon or Salmon Rushdie getting a knighthood or the Pope saying citing some history the Muslims don't like.

Police never patrol the area to protect them, and complaints to them are useless. The Christians here are illiterate, kept that way because few can even get into a public school, and they don't even realize what's going on in the world and why they are being attacked, other than because they are Christian. Needless to say, many convert to Islam just to protect themselves and their families; only the truest and hardest of believers remain Christian. And Pakistani Muslims complain of the treatment their Muslim brothers in India? Typical hypocracy of Muslims. Islam is a hateful, horrible, violant, oppressive, sufficating religion. I've lived in it, surrounded by it. I believe it is the cancer on this planet.
