Refusal to admit mistakes not unique to dictatorsReader comment on item: [Iraqi] WMD Lies Submitted by Hillel (Sabba) Markowitz) (United States), Oct 7, 2003 at 12:55 You state that one of the reasons that Saddam Hussein refused to admit that his claim to have Weapons of Mass Destruction was false was a refusal to admit to a mistake. You used the analogy of the mistakes that Hitler and Stalin made in the eastern front. I should point out that it is not only dictators that refuse to admit mistakes, though dictators can carry the refusal to fatal extremes more easily. There are people who are still refusing to admit that the Oslo "peace plan" was a complete and utter mistake. There are still Israelis who are willing to commit suicide rather than admit that they have refused to see the evil of the jihadists. There are people throughout the world who cannot bring themselves to admit that they were wrong, even as the refusal leads to the deaths of their society.
