Russia hid themReader comment on item: [Iraqi] WMD Lies Submitted by Paul M. Neville (United States), Oct 7, 2003 at 18:11 If Iraq had no WMDs then France and certainly Russia would have known. They have been pushing for the lifting of sanctons for years so they could realize the profits from their lucrative oil deals with Saddam. Russia purportedly would have realized 40 billion from its sweetheart deal. At any time they could have revealed that Iraq's public position(we don't have them) was correct and stopped the US and Britain cold. They never contested the truth of the allegations just the methods of disarmament. If you remember, France publicly declared that if Saddam used WMDs against the invading Americans they would change sides and support the war.The only thing that makes any sense is the claim that Russia sent military advisors into Iraq just ahead of the invasion to destroy or remove the weapons in a prearranged plan with Saddam.
