Are you a Christian?

If you are a Christian, then you should have read the Bible and you would know that all women are required to cover their heads and dress modestly to do just what you said, to protect their beauty and preserve their virtue! Islam teaches women to protect their beauty and modesty and to not live in vain. Women should be not be treated as sexual objects, but respected for our spirit and character and treated as equals. We dress that way for ourselves, not for our husbands or for any man.

Our husbands are proud of us for doing this, but they do not force us to. It is commanded to us by God in every major religion. That's why Nuns cover their heads, and some Orthodox Jews do as well. Just look in your Bible at 1 Corithians verse 11. As for the suicide bombers, it is not part of the Islam religion to blow yourself up and I cannot imagine how awful a person's living conditions would have to be in order to be able to do something like that. Perhaps if you were living in a place with no protection, no order, seeing your family and loved ones being blown up and killed for no reason, you may take your own life.

Put yourself in others shoes before you judge them. Ask yourself, what makes a person do something like that, and you will probably see things in a different perspective.
