Islam's Future - repression, resentment, hatred and spiteReader comment on item: Islam's Future [Can Be Modern] Submitted by rugbyjoc (Bulgaria), Jun 18, 2003 at 14:45 I live with a man who was 'born' a Muslim. He's an Arab, by race - not one of those people you see from North Africa whom everyone calls 'arabs' but a real one. I am a man, too, a European and a Christian both by baptism and conviction. My 'muslim' lover and I would be put to death by the holy muslims whom everyone nowadays is afraid of and tries to appease. The people everyone says are so 'peaceful' and 'law-abiding' would give us no peace and think themselves able to pick and mix laws to suit themselves. These are not good citizens of the United Kingdom - where we live - neither are they good and true citizens of the United Sates or of any other western democracy. These are people who smile and pretend to espouse our values of freedom of speech and democracy because they feel they can do no other.Honest muslims tell a different story. Honest muslims admit that they despise the west and its culture. They do not either preach tolerance of other religions or suggest that they believe in a religious policy of toleration. I applaud the Hamas leader who said (recent BBC interview) that "nothing except a muslim state can be allowed here" [the Middle East]. The man is honest - he says what he and the muslims really believe. We may disapprove of his words but they are only a true reflection of his belief and they should be accepted as such. In essence, this Pope (John Paul II) gave the muslims a mosque in the centre of the capital of world Christianity, Rome. The Imam of that mosque preaches jihad against Christains, Jews and 'the West'. Is this ingratitude or merely the telling of an unpalatble truth? Jews and Christians can live together and work together. Both - with a few exceptions - have learned neither to fear nor to hate the other. Nobody can safely live with muslims or the so-called Islamic world because the activists among the muslims seek only to destroy the west and to subjugate the followers of other religions. So-called 'peaceful' or 'moderate' muslims are merely the bearers of a thin veneer of tolerance for others. Given half the chance or given the right level of rabble -rousing and shouts of "allah u akbar" and you will find most of them ready and eager to go along with whatever some half educated, semi-literate Imam or Mullah orders or incites. There is no such creature as 'moderate Islam' just as there is no such animal as a 'liberal Nazi'. Many muslims - however integrated they may either seem or wish to appear - represent a latent and potential 'fifth column' that would damage western society's values and that militates against those values we know as 'liberal' and 'free'. Islam does not believe in 'personal freedoms', as do we, and we are foolish to suggest or even dream that some sort of cohabitation is possible between the values of the western world and the values of Islam. The philosopy of Islam is not 'live and let live'. It is not one of 'peace', at least as we understand it. It is not one of equality or freedom or justice for all. If you do not live as Islam dictates - or as some Imam or Mullah says - then you will be punished, discriminated against, subjugated, emarginated or even murdered, all in the name of Islam and its prophet. The God of Islam is, first and foremost, a punisher. He is not anything remotely like the Judaeo-Christian Father in Heaven. 'Peace', for Islam, is granted to its followers, first, and then to the rest provided they are subject to Islam and Muslim rule. There can be no peace when there is a single muslim subject to the rule of a non-muslim and all muslims must fight for the establishment of Islam as the basis of human society. Christians, Jews and others are not equal to muslims - they achieve equality only by becoming muslims. Being 'free' means being free to follow but never to reject the dictates of the clergy and the rest of the bunch - they represent Islam and Islam is the true submission to Allah. Justice is not justice if a non-muslim is allowed to give evidence against a muslim and if that evidence produces a guilty verdict against the muslim - this goes so far as to suggest that no non-muslim court or tribunal (and therefore no non-muslim state) can have any proper jurisdiction over a muslim. Christians are not only not allowed any Churches or places of worship in Saudi Arabia but they are subject to severe criminal penalties if they do so little as to gather for a prayer meeting, so where is the freedom for others in Islam? Under the Ottoman Empire, the Mullahs and the Imams were well controlled and educated. In fact, controlling the muslim clergy was one of the few things that the Ottomans were consistently able to do and is evidently one of the blessings of present day Turkey, 99% muslim but so secular that for a muslim cleric to preach anything against another religion would put him before the Courts. ... I cannot speak for the individual worth of holiness of any man or woman - I am unable to make a window into any man's heart or soul - but I do fear it is true that most muslim clergy are intellectually unformed and educationally deprived. How can any serious intellectual dialogue be undertaken or attempted with such people? ... What does hate have to do with God? 'Hate' and 'God' seem to me mutually exclusive terms... When calamity and disaster hits the Chritain or the Jew he or she first starts to look around for a way of avoiding it in the future. how did this happen?', is the question. Islam has taught the muslim rather to blame... I would hope to make merry with many a good muslim in heaven. My God requires that joyfully and with good heart I pray for such a time. My God requires that I treat all men and women as brothers and sisters and that I respect and love them, as being His children as am I. I will try to do as asked. Whilst I do so I shall keep in my mind the fact that Islam seeks the subjection... of all I understand and of all that I am. I think it wise that everyone in the 'west' follow my example.
