"Global Citizen" Rap Artists Seducing Young Muslims into a Life of Hell on EarthReader comment on item: Debating the Khalil Gibran International Academy Submitted by Sofa Sogood (United States), May 21, 2008 at 01:50 Thanks, Diana, I'm glad I noticed the "Global Citizens" statement too. As you said, why not "American ambassadors for peace and hope." Ms. A is too transparent. And thanks for the link to the NYTimes article on Ali Ardekani (Babi Ali). I have to say, as I watched his video, even though what he was saying was so much nonsense, I began to feel a sense of compassion for those innocent young Muslims who are both not too knowledgable about and also in denial of aspects of their religion, and who haven't got a clue as to how to find a way to be proud of themselves and the faith they were born into, while they're trying to grow up and be part of American society. They don't get it, that the only way for them (instead of blaming others for "stereotyping," misrepresenting that passages in the Koran are "out of context," and making irrelevant comparisons), is to take the responsibility of condemning Islamism in all aspects, and to help bring their religion into the 21st Century by demanding changes and editing. Their elder leaders fail them by not modernizing Islam (if it's even possible, I don't know) and removing the political and demands of world domination, etc. But then I saw and heard the You Tube "1924, Soldiers of Allah" video ("At the beginning of this Century, the system of Islam Ruled Over the World.... Bring Back Islam"), and my compassion for the "innocent" quickly morphed into a sense of horror. If the same guy produced both, what a clever liar. He's a total hypocrite, and much worse. He is everything he claims that is "misunderstood" and "stereotyped." And he is one of the "leaders" (young or not) who is failing his own contemporaries by seducing them into a life of hatred, lies, treachery, and hell on earth. I gather this is the type of "Global Citizen" Ms. A hopes her students will become.
