Educating the LeftReader comment on item: Barack Obama through Muslim Eyes Submitted by Straight_Talk_Luigi (United States), Sep 8, 2008 at 16:53 Really? What about all of their colonies in the Americas, Africa, and the far East? Or don't those people count to you? What about them, Anne? I have Asian and Native blood in me, and I would say that the Anglo-Saxons just beat everyone else at their own game. All those places you mention have had conflicts mostly amongst themselves. Believe it or not, and I'm sure you weren't taught this in your impressive "educational" institutions, but most of the wars and conflicts occurred between neighbors. And if you REALLY want to help them? Give up your cable TV, your ipod and jelwery collection and give the money to the poor. Remove the plank from your eye before you remove the splinter from mine. You need to travel outside your hometown, Luigi. Define "travel". I've been outside the USA several times and I have LIVED abroad. Or maybe you are talking about doing what most liberals do and fly from one concrete slab to another with just a first-class flight inbetween? Who do you think goes to the really, really poor areas and not the urbanized city centers or the guided tours provided by the late Saddam and China? Christian missionaries! You know, those "awful" people that your secular and Islamist allies want DEAD! In fact, starting with Italy, non-racist eyes see a relic who authorized invading Iraq that had not attacked us. I'm not sure what the reference to Italy is about, but I'm guessing it's a stunt to get me all emotional. Trouble is, I'm not Italian. Someone else called me a dago, and I had to look it up to even know what it was. After 9-11, every single American asked how do we prevent this. The only way is to go and pull out the problem by the roots, ok? Not to pretend that the whole East wants to hold hands around the campfire and all the need is the cashflow of rich, white Christian men. Iraq was the wrong battlefield, no question. Trouble is, Anne, the same people in your school of thought don't approve of it for moral reasons, but because they want to ruin America to show all those white men what it feels like to be "a part of the world." That's what it all comes down to, and they seem themsleves as some kind of justice crusader like in a fantasy superhero comic book. That's probably why an article surfaced that we should invade Myanmmar, a BUDDHIST country, in order to provide "humanitarian" aid. Where in the UN Charter does it say we can do that? And technically, Rwanda, Bosnia were internal affairs, and those were also ILLEGAL under that premise. The only difference was that Clinton was democract so in your book, he gets a free pass. And it was airstrikes and no ground troops. People wonder if the GOP had working knowledge of geography. The obviously seem to understand world power disturbution and know that Russia, China and radical Islam are going to deal a major blow to democracy this century unless something drastic happens. Don't you understand that these powers aren't interested in equality? I can see them coming over here and stealing resources from the Continental Shelf and from Canada, and whose gonna stop them? Don't you see that Western democracies are weakening, whereas China and Russia and radcial Islam are surging with power? Do you not realize their ambitions for expansion? Do you not realize that in 60 years Muslims will be the majority in Western Europe? They also see a party that sucked up the surplus, tripled the deficit, and instead of raising taxes to pay for the war that they authorized, instead, lowered taxes for the richest 1%. They see a party of oilmen running a country that still makes 8 cylinder personal vehicles and taxes solar energy. Solar energy needs subsidies because it's inefficent. Maybe if the lazy engineers and college professors and researchers worked more than 10-30 hours a week and if Ph D students stopped shooting the breeze with the boys down the hall and reading the NY Times, it wouldn't be an issue. Or better yet, Anne, why don't more Americans get up off the couch, turn off John Stewart and American Idol, get off of AIM, stop using skin color and economic status as an excuse and work hard to study math and physics so that renewable energy DOES become feasible. Most of our engineers come from outside the USA because Americans are getting lazier and lazier and because GLBT and diversity groups in the education system are considered on par with the three R's. I don't see Greenpeace or the Sierra Club using Hydrogen fuel cells to power their boats or their SUV's on off roading trips. Usually, when you're passionate about something like the oil companies, you boycott them. Trouble is, we can't! Because it's the only technology that is economically feasible! All those speeches on sustainability given at college lecture halls---tell them it's also about economics! In Barack Obama, they see a Christian community organizer who graduated magna cum laude from Harvard in International law, 8 years in the Illinois senate, 4 years in the U. S. Senate, 12 years as a professor of constitutional law. So then what's the deal about his "Muslim" faith as he told Stephanopolis in the ABC interview? What exaclty is a "community" organizer, anyway? On resumes, a lot of people put down "good communcation skills" without knowing what that means. I don't see how a person can be a Christian and support the gay lifestyle, stem cell research and abortion for the sake of so-called "progress". All the left is doing is handing world power over to Hu Jintoa, Putin and Hamas on a silver platter. What to know what the future holds for liberalism, Anne? Dim at best. The see a guy with the judgment to know that the Iraq war question was totally bogus. Because he wasn't in Congress when the decision was made! If he's a man of peace, what's the deal about invading Paksitan? Oh, I see. I guess white, republican men with a southern accent aren't allowed to invade other countries. They've had it good for a long time now, so they should suffer, and if they don't want to, I the heroric liberal, will make them because I know all about justice. That's how you come across, Anne. They see a guy who cares for fetuses after they are born by making health care reachable and jobs available to their parents. You might not agree with my perspective on the issues. But leave the bogus religion out of it. Moslem is code word for "be afraid" and "black guy". Don't get sucked in. It seems to me that the only people who are getting sucked in is the left with the Palin pick, even more so than when Clarence Thomas was appointed to the Supreme Court. I guess the idea of someone working thier way to the top AND balancing family and work without welfare is pretty intimidating for extreme feminists who run most of their arguments on emotion. Obama hasn't played the race card and doesn't seem to want this election to be about race. The left has other ideas, as lead by Jeremiah Wright, Al Sharpton and the usual suspects of Black liberals who feel a sense of entitlment for crimes they never felt and for all the guilty whites and their psyhcologically-malfuct pity parties. Muslim isn't a code word, Anne, it's a fact about Obama's family. If he and his party's ideas are so great, why do individuals like you have to cover for him? Or do you just have a tingly feeling in your body like all the other reporters do? If Barack wins, just make sure he realizes that Robert Mugabe, the Iranian government, Kim Jong II and the Arab leadership in the Sudan won't have sweating palms. Being a stereotypical big, strong "Black" (he's genetically biracial, but I guess being white is bad to some liberals, so....) is the LEAST of Obama's problems. The world sure doesn't see him as that. You want to know why the world (ie every terrorist group and dictator) likes Obama, Anne? Because a weaker America suits their interests. But I guess you're under the impression that everyone wants equality. You talk to me about people in the Third World? Do you know what would happen if you went down to the Amazon and told the Pervuian they couldn't feed their families because of global warming? They'd tell you off, Anne! Try in it in the jungle, and you'll get a wad of poison darts shot your way. Don't you get it, Anne? The rest of the world just wants a normal life! They don't want the government involved to micro-manage EVERY single move they make! Maybe you and the Obama campaign and the EU elite ought to come out here to the Great Plains and go for a country drive, Anne, if nothing just to feel the wind in your hair. We're not the ones who need to travel, it's the elite left that needs to get out of the city and away from the country club and see the rural world away from the places of luxury. That alone could cost Obama this election, and rightly so.
