Complex reality

I live in New York. There is a diamond district, a flower district, a lighting fixture district, a clothing district (both retail and wholesale), a financial district, a media district, numerous residential districts, a few restaurant districts, many ethnic districts, etc. Those who compete commercially still flock together since it turns out to be an asset to their businesses. Competition does not exist in a vacuum, nor does cooperation. Any idealized view of how things should be is going to be wrong, because idealizations can never encompass reality. Therein lies the danger to human kind, since idealized views will have to be forced upon the population, thereby causing unhappiness in some and perhaps in many. All of Obama's changes will disappear because that is just the way things are. Even his destructive deficits will be resolved one way or another. I just pray it is not too painful to recover from Hope and Change.
