sooner rather than laterReader comment on item: Has Islam been Hijacked by Radicals? Submitted by the Grand Infidel of Kaffiristan (Australia), Jan 28, 2011 at 07:51 Michel writes: "I would assume that these people for the sake of their individual mental health (silently) support their Djihaadists in order to resolve the foregoing dilemma. Likely they would in the privacy of their homes, secretly applaude their activists and thus find some way to live with themselves and still call themselves muslim. It must nevertheless be terribly difficult and frustrating to live in such a state of denial." Oh, it's easy to rationalise any position, handle any defeat when you're convinced you're on the winning side. Case in point - German and Japanese civilians circa 1944 . And that was leaving religion and afterlife out of the equation. The problem is that the darkness and hatreds run so deep. The more devoted muslims will always find a reason to be anti-semitic and way to justify beheading or otherwise nullifying perceived enemies of Islam. "..... To be a true muslim there - here considered as fundamentalist - is matter of life or death, defines the individual career, success or failure in their societies. In these regions radical islam is a self-propelling mechanism - a fire which only will burn out, when the grip of the oil on the global economy loosens and those rigid structures will implode, once the drip of petrodollars dries out." that latter point may be reached sooner than you think '...I dare to venture that in 100 years Islam will be a religion, which could no longer be compared to what is the norm today. Not because they want to, but because it will become a simple matter of self-preservation. The dinosaur of Islam will have to eventually join Buddhism, Christianity, the Jews or Hindus - all religiions, which by now have already more in common than not and most of all found ways to co-exist peacefully." Bet you $100 it won't exist. There'll be no more need to believe in buraqs, wiping your backside with your left hand, enhancing any genetically predisposition to OCD by having to continually clean yourself and face Mecca 5 times a day, No necessity to believe the child-bedding 'perfect man' split the moon with his little finger etc etc . No myths of Islamic 'supremacy' and none of its superstition. One of Islam's many Achilles heels is its intolerance - and this sticks out like _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _. Given true freedom of choice - what sane person would believe in such a hodge-podge of garbled distortions - when so many more clearer, kinder and more practical paths and methods for achieving spiritual wholeness are so freely available. But before that point is reached in the more tolerant West - I expect the boil will be lanced one way or another - with the most likely outcome a crescendo of blood letting borne out of generations of ignorance and hatred. Recent examples from that most Islamic of states - Pakistan - shows there's probably not enough medication in the world to deal with the combined psychoses of their population. How do you mass-medicate against such wide-spread deep seated fantasies which actually cause the 'believers' harm?
