Israel is NOT PalestineReader comment on item: Lebanon, Stuck between Israel and Syria Submitted by M. Tovey (United States), Aug 2, 2011 at 16:07 In the modern scheme of things Middle eastern, while the notion of the scholar Mr. Willibrands that the majority of Palestinians are Israelites, there is an interjection of confusion while trying to determine just what that exactly might entail. Since the term 'Palestinian' is a relatively modern appellation for a modern indigenous people, plagiarized from historical uses for the region now mostly possessed by Israel, trying to make the term continuously applicable seems to do two things. Since embracing the term for indigent Arabs makes for a set-up of global acceptance in an otherwise hostile environment, it is not too far back in history where the followers of Y. Arafat made its use emblematic of the process to drive out and destroy the Jewish population. Concurrently, it would seem apparent that Israelites of the tribal sort would take exception of being associated with non-Jewish 'Palestinians' as tribally affiliated. Maybe some would not be so affronted, until 'Palestinian' rocket fire comes in to remind those affected of the disparity of ideologies. After all, historically, Israelites of the Assyrian deportation were not welcomed so easily back by the Judean counterparts, a condition that persisted through the Roman occupation until the time of Titus' invasion and destruction of the Temple – the central bone of their contentions. It is an opinion then, that trying to find materials that try to make 'Palestinians' Israelites is likely to serve an ideology that is not going to fare well, in spite of the world's intention to merge Israel into a modern reformat of its former self. It is a formula for peace that has as much chance forming peace as the 'Road Map to Peace.' Emulsions of oil and water eventually separate and oil will burn itself out on the water.
